Q: Where is the Library located?
A: The village of Barryton is located on M-66 about midway between Remus and U.S. 10. Coming to the caution light in town, you would turn east down our main street (Northern Avenue). You'll find the Library at the end of the second block on the right.
Q: Who runs the Library?
A: Barryton Public Library is a local governmental unit administered by a board of six volunteers appointed by: Chippewa Township (2) Fork Township (2) Village of Barryton (2). The Board meets monthly to, among other things, determine policy, plan budget figures, approve expenditures, and become informed on the day-to-day operation of the Library. Board meetings are on the third Friday of each month at 1:00 p.m. at the Barryton Library. The public is most welcome to attend.
Q: May I use the Library if I don't live in Barryton?
A: The answer to this question is an emphatic "Yes!" Library materials and services are open to everyone without regard to residency. For bookkeeping purposes, patrons outside of our legal service area are given a non-resident card but do not pay extra fees to use the Library.
Q: When is the Library open?
A: Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday form 9:00 to 1:00 p.m. An after-hours dropbox is located just outside the front door.
Q: When are library board meetings?
A: Board meetings are held at the Barryton Library the third Friday of each month at 1:00pm. The public is welcome to attend.
